Daytona Triumph #1 in the Southeast.

In 1962 Don Burnett won the Daytona 200 race, riding a Triumph motorcycle. It was one of the closest finishes ever at the world famous Daytona International Speedway!

The next Triumph Rider to win at the Daytona 200 Road race was Buddy Elmore in 1966 riding for the Triumph factory racing team. Riding the legendary Triumph Daytona 500.

In 1967 The legendary Gary Nixon won the Daytona 200 beating all the bigger cc’ed motorcycles of the Time. Riding the famous Triumph Daytona 500 motorcycle. Nixon would become maybe the most famous Triumph motorcycle racer ever!

2014 was the next win at the Daytona 200 for Triumph. Danny Eslick on a TRIUMPH 675 DAYTONA. So you could say that the Triumph Daytona racing bikes have evolved over the years.

Who can forget the great race team Triumph factory put together for 1971 Daytona 200 race. Truly legendary.

Gene Romero, Gary Nixon, Don Castro, Tom Rockwood, & Paul Smart. They didn’t win, but came very close. All riding the 1971 Factory Triumph Trident 750’s.

Starting in 1937 thru the early 1960’s Triumph was always a major presence at the Daytona Beach races.
